Robert A. Ertner, M.D.
Robert A. Ertner, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He is available for to serve as an expert witness for both plaintiff and defense.
Dr. Ertner is a full-time anesthesiologist in private practice in Northern California. He has served previously as an academic physician teaching residents in both MD and CRNA programs, engaged in locum tenens work supervising CRNAs, and presently provides care to over 700 patients each year. His group is involved in providing spinal, epidural, regional, and general anesthesia for patients undergoing general, orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, vascular, and neurologic surgery. He specializes in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures for which he is fellowship trained.
Dr. Ertner received his board certification in 2005, re-certified in 2015, and engages in maintenance of certification requirements. He received his diplomat status as an echocardiographer in 2007. He is licensed in Texas, Georgia, Missouri, and California, where he presently resides.
He became involved with medical-legal work in 2013 and has rendered his services for both plaintiff’s and defense attorneys and directly to patients and doctors seeking his assistance. He has provided expert testimony in both written form, during depositions, and in court.
Education
- Dr. Ertner is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Medicine class of 2000.
- He completed his residency in anesthesiology at University Medical Center/Texas Tech, in 2004.
- Dr. Ertner completed his fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesia from Emory University in 2005.
- He was conferred diplomat status as an intra-operative echocardiographer in 2007.
